My Last Comment: Sometimes, it seems what
constitutes a work being sexist or not (or racist) depends on
who makes it. A woman making a sexploitation
film these days (like “Baise-Moi”)
is considered a progressive feminist (because maybe she’s thought
to be “appropriating” the inherent sexism of the form and “commenting”
on it or answering it); Spike Lee called Quentin Tarantino to
task for using the word “nigga” too many times in “Jackie
Brown,” but maybe that’s only because he’s white? Bad Girl Cinema
